Work With Heart: Honoring the Spirit of Our Culture Through Opportunity
By Josh Murphy, Talent Acquisition & Development Lead
At Tiara Yachts we talk about how your attitude makes all the difference, and that belief came to life in the most inspiring way.
We’re proud to recognize our Employee of the Month, not just one person, but an entire crew of young adults from our Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) Workforce Transition Program. These individuals joined us with open hearts, an eagerness to learn, and a determination to contribute, and they’ve done just that.
Six years ago, this program started with a simple idea: what if we could be the place where someone’s potential is seen before their limitations? What if we could help young adults with developmental challenges experience the pride of building peoples’ dreams – and the joy of being a part of something that is meaningful can bring?
The results have been incredible. These team members have brought energy, positivity, and a deep sense of purpose to the work. They've reminded all of us of what it looks like to show up with courage. To try, to grow, and to celebrate the small victories like learning a new task, making a new friend, or hearing, “Great job today.”
They’ve embodied the very best of our culture:
- Pride in the work
- Respect for the team
- Commitment to doing things the right way
- A positive attitude that lifts everyone around them
In a time when production demands are high and stress can sometimes cloud our vision, this team has reminded us of something simple but essential: people are at the heart of what we do. Every person matters. Every job has dignity. And every opportunity to support someone’s growth is worth taking.
To our program participants: THANK YOU. You inspire us.
To the Tiara team: this is who we are.
Let’s keep building, not just the boats, but each other.
And we’re proud to share that this story has made headlines! The OAISD Program here at Tiara Yachts was recently featured by WOOD TV8’s Miranda. You can read more and watch the video segment here.
