Your 48 LS

The Build Process

Raw Materials

Before the work begins, all Tiara Yachts vessels are assigned a two-letter hull stamp and three-digit hull number. Your 48 LS's hull stamp is KE and its hull number is 059. You may hear us refer to your boat as 'KE059.' This number is unique to your vessel, similar to a vin number on a vehicle. KE059 is born in receiving, where raw materials such as resins, fiberglass cloth, insulation material and lumber are delivered. These are the materials that will eventually become your 48 LS.

This is the start of the build process of your yacht where raw materials are set aside. In this production prep phase, most of your cabin, galley and seating components are cut by a CNC router from many different materials like marine plywood, teak veneer, solid teak, laminate ply and starboard. Each part is labeled with a bar code containing your hull number and then organized onto carts for assembly.

At the same time, the Eastman cutting machine begins cutting hundreds of specific shapes and sizes of various fiberglass fabrics that will make up your hull, deck, stringer grid and other parts. The fiberglass cloth pieces are organized onto carts for Phase 2 where the cloth is put into molds.
